Start with a small batch, then import more. 2. ### Review what it reads Check the amount, date, merchant or recipient, and category. Receipts are read and questions answered on your phone, and nothing goes to Spenti: there is no Spenti server for your data. In On-this-phone mode, the default, turn on airplane mode after the model download and try scanning a receipt or asking a spending question. After that, scanning and chat work offline unless you choose your own AI. ### How is Spenti different from MeowJot? MeowJot reads slips from bank-app photo albums. Its [privacy notice](https://assets.meowjot.com/public/privacy/privacy.html) permits cloud storage and sharing within the KBTG/KBank group, but does not disclose where OCR runs. Spenti reads slips and paper receipts on your phone by default, with no Spenti account and nothing sent to Spenti. Personal cloud backup is opt-in. It gives you 100 AI scans and 100 chat messages per month, CSV and Excel export, and backup to your own iCloud or Google Drive. Pro costs ฿99 per month, ฿799 per year or ฿2,999 once: unlimited scans and chat, everything in Basic, every built-in room, the whole family of six mascots, and Your own AI if you want it. The Boy's and Girl's rooms, Brother, bank messages, money in and refunds, and any scene you make with your own AI are free on every plan; each bank message filed for you counts as a scan. ### If Spenti has no servers for my data, where do my receipts live? Your receipts and spending records are stored in a local database on your phone. Optional backup on Basic or Pro copies your data to your own iCloud or Google Drive account. Your phone's operating-system backup settings may also include app data. Spenti does not receive those backups. ### Does the AI send anything to OpenAI or Google? Not unless you choose to. By default, receipt recognition and spending chat run on your phone and nothing is sent to any AI provider; after the model download both work offline. On Pro you can connect your own AI (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or OpenRouter); then only the text of a receipt and your chat questions go to that provider, under your own account, and never to Spenti. Yes, on the phone, tuned for Thai banks and wallets (K PLUS, SCB EASY, Krungthai NEXT, Bualuang mBanking, KMA, ttb touch, MyMo, TrueMoney and more). On iPhone, a Shortcuts automation hands each message to Spenti; Android is coming. The message is read on the device and never sent anywhere, even with Your own AI on. Money in and refunds are saved too, and never count as spending. Each message filed counts as a scan. ### What happens if I lose my phone? Without a usable backup, you may lose the records stored on that phone. Basic and Pro offer optional backup to your own iCloud or Google Drive. Check that a recent backup is available before changing phones; you will need access to the same cloud account and any backup passphrase you set. ### I can't read Thai. Can I still use it? Yes — that's the point. Spenti reads the Thai slip and gives you the merchant, amount and date in English. ### Why is it slow on my phone? Processing time depends on your phone, image quality, batch size, heat and power settings. Let the model download finish, then try a small batch first. Large imports can take longer as the phone warms up. Keep the app open during scanning. If scanning repeatedly stalls, [contact support](https://spenti.app/support/) with your device and app version. ### Live exchange rates need the internet. Doesn't that break the offline promise? In On-this-phone mode, the default, scanning, categorising, budgets and spending chat work offline after the model download. Network use includes model downloads and updates, update checks, store purchases, links you open, optional cloud backup or live exchange rates, and, only if you turn it on, Your own AI. Backup transfers your financial data to your own cloud account. The exchange-rate request does not include receipt contents or transaction amounts; it is off by default in Settings → Currency. Spenti supports Thai bank slips, PromptPay screenshots, Thai or English paper receipts, and receipts in ten more scripts. Results vary with the layout and image quality. Review the amount, date, merchant or recipient, and category; correct any mistakes before relying on your spending totals. ### Does Spenti track income too? Yes, as money in. Bank alerts and Apple Pay payments that bring money in are saved too: a refund, reversal or cashback becomes a Refund that lowers your spending when Spenti finds the purchase it refunds, and anything else becomes Money in, which never counts as spending. Any entry can be switched between Spent, Refund and Money in when you edit it, and the analysis and recap show In · Out · Left. Scanned receipts and screenshots stay expenses unless you switch them.
