About / the maker

# Hi, I'm Thomas.

I build websites and mobile apps — Thomas is the name I go by; Zaw Lin Tun is the legal name on the App Store and in Manee's policies. Manee is the app I wanted for myself: expense tracking that never sends my receipts anywhere.

## How it actually works.

Manee runs on-device AI I fine-tuned for receipts — trained on thousands of Thai and English slips, the crumpled and faded ones too.

The network is only touched for update checks, the one-time AI model download, store purchases, and — if you switch them on — the daily exchange rate check and Pro sync to your own iCloud or Google Drive. None of your financial data ever reaches a server of mine.

## Runs on the phone you already have.

On-device AI only earns its keep if it's efficient. Here's the honest floor.

Minimum

- **Android** — 7.0+ (soon)
- **iOS** — 16+
- **CPU** — 2 cores
- **Free storage** — 2 GB

Recommended

- **RAM** — 4 GB+
- **Storage** — room for the model download
- **Manual entry** — works on anything

Older or low-RAM phones can install and use manual entry, summaries and search; the AI scan & chat run best at 4 GB RAM and up.

## The journey so far.

2025 · Dec

### Third at the Cursor hackathon

Manee started as a hackathon prototype — and placed third. That was the sign to build it for real.

2026 · Q1

### On-device, or nothing

Tested on-device approaches, chasing extraction quality that stays fast — and never leaves the phone.

2026 · Q2

### Thai first

Fine-tuned for Thai and mixed Thai/English receipts — the ones generic scanners fumble.

2026 · Q3

### It learned to talk

Added AI chat over your own data — plain-language questions, fully on-device.
